Murphy's Law for Computer Systems
If something can go wrong it will go wrong.
Except when a computer support person is looking over your shoulder and you are trying to show him/her what went wrong.
A computer system or software application will always work perfectly, until you hand it over to the customer.
A critical hardware or software failure will always occur at the most inconvenient time, like 3AM for example.
Why does a computer tech always carry a few extra components in his bag like a network switch, a NIC card or a cat 5 cable? In case one of these fails?
No, it is to make sure that they don’t fail.
Can you assume that, ‘when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable must be the truth’?
No, it will be something that you forgot to eliminate.
